Just as many other business owners get their start when they see a need in the community that they can fill, Ben founded HandiPro when he noticed the stress that the “fix-it list” had over his close friends and neighbors. As he focused on delivering quality work and establishing lasting relationships with his customers, HandiPro flourished and referrals started flooding in.
When Ben started Handipro, he had no idea just how fast it would take off. It didn’t take long before Ben had more work than he could handle alone. He began putting together a hardworking, trustworthy and capable team, and naturally the business continued to flourish.
HandiPro is a family company through and through, and this mindset carries over to their customers. As Ben says: “We are a family company, and we try to extend that invitation to our customers. The relationships that are created are long lasting, and that is what it is about. We just happen to solve the issues of homeownership along the way.”
To know the driving force behind a man is to know him. From the beginning of HandiPro, Ben has been driven by the strength of the relationships and trust he establishes with customers. To him, this is the most important and rewarding part of what he does.
One thing that makes Ben so uniquely qualified for this business is the variety of certifications and experience that he’s had. Besides a number of years in contracting business management, commercial sales training, real estate sales and consulting, his list of certifications is about as long as Lake Superior is wide. Perhaps what makes him so uniquely qualified as owner of HandiPro however, is that in many cases he can relate to a past experience and this allows him to narrow down a solution that will be of the most value to the customer.
When he’s not tackling the community’s various fix-it lists, Ben can be found camping with his family, fishing, boating, or building motorcycles. He appreciates U.P culture and the sense of camaraderie that can be found up here. Ben is a native of the U.P. and has put roots down here with his beautiful wife and 4 children.
